PRESS RELEASE - 4TH OF JULY SAFETY TIPS
Seal Beach, CA – The Seal Beach Police Department wants to remind the public to
celebrate safely this Independence Day.
To help keep Seal Beach safe, the Seal Beach Police Department will have extra police
officers patrolling throughout the 4th of July weekend. As a reminder:
* Don’t drink and drive. Designate a sober driver, or use a rideshare or taxi to get
home safely.
* All fireworks, including safe and sane fireworks, are illegal in Seal Beach.
* Possession of open alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all public areas of Seal
Beach including streets, alleys, sidewalks, parks, and beach/pier.
* Throwing water balloons, or spraying water at pedestrians, cars, or bicycles is
dangerous and illegal.
* The beach closes nightly at 10:00pm. Regular beach closing will be enforced.
Violators will be arrested and/or issued a citation and fine. Please remember to
