On Tuesday, October 18th, the City Council and management team held our 6-month strategic planning retreat.  I am very pleased that it was a very collaborative and productive day with the Council and management team working together positively in support of this important City effort.
The  City’s Strategic Plan, displays our strengths and accomplishments that we have achieved together on behalf of our community over the past 6 months, each one in which each of you played a significant role in our success.  I would especially like to commend and acknowledge the executive management team and all support staff for your ongoing, collaborative, and significant efforts and progress in accomplishing the 2016 goals and objectives to date, especially given that these accomplishments are far above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities and expectations of each department to provide and ensure quality service to our community, in addition to our ability to balance and address continuous emerging community issues as well.
The community will be receiving feedback monthly as the Council and executive management team will monitor progress at a monthly Council meeting on the 6-month goals and objectives.  
The Strategic Planning Retreat Report will be agendized for presentation by the Mayor at the November 14th City Council meeting, and the City Council and management team have already scheduled a follow-up Strategic Planning Retreat on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, to more thoroughly assess progress on the goals and strategic objectives, identify core values for the City, and develop objectives for the next 6 months.
We will be uploading the October 18th Strategic Planning Retreat Report on the City website as soon as possible.
