New Junior Lifeguard Swim Test
The swim test will consist of a 100 yard swim that must be completed within:
- 1:55 – ‘C’ group (9 – 11)
- 1:40 – ‘B’ group (12 – 13)
- 1:35 – ‘A’ group (14 – 17)
ALL swim tests will be held at McGaugh Elementary School – 1698 Bolsa Avenue (corner of Bolsa Avenue and Seal Beach Boulevard). All swim tests must be conducted by Seal Beach Junior Lifeguard Program staff. Any times not verified by program staff will not be considered.
DATES AND TIMES:
Tests will be conducted on the following three days:
- Tuesday May 29 – 5pm to 7pm
- Thursday May 31 – 5pm to 7pm
- Saturday June 2 – 7 am to 10 am
**Passing the swim test does not guarantee your child a spot in the program. Once your child passes the swim test you may register him/her at Lifeguard Headquarters on Saturday June 16th. Registration is on a first come first served basis. No New Junior Lifeguard registration forms will be accepted prior to this date.
Returning Junior Lifeguard Swim Test
The swim test will consist of a 100 yard swim that must be completed within:

Please bring your completed Registration packet and payment with you on the day your child tests.

- May 5 – 7 am to 10 am
- May 12 – 7 am to 10 am
** If your child does not attend one of these test dates and is not enrolled in any of the Junior Lifeguard classes, s/he must attend one of the New Junior Lifeguard test dates and s/he will no longer be eligible for priority registration. You will have to register on Saturday June 16 at Lifeguard Headquarters.
