The City of Seal Beach is preparing a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, or LHMP. The Public Review Draft of this plan has been completed and will be made available to the public for a 30 day review period beginning October 23rd, 2018.

The City of Seal Beach has received over $1.9 million from the Orange County Transportation Authority (“OCTA”) to help mitigate costs and impacts of the I-405 Improvement Project. In March of 2018, the City executed a settlement agreement to end its lawsuit challenging the adequacy of the Environmental Impact Report (“EIR”) Caltrans and OCTA prepared for the I-405 improvement project. The parties have been working on compliance with the agreement over the course of the past 7 months.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, at approximately 2:45 pm, the Seal Beach Police Department received a call of a robbery at the “Private Sneakers” store located at 12410 Seal Beach Boulevard.

The City of Seal Beach Pier Improvement Project has been progressing since the project was awarded and the Contractor (John S. Meek Company) was allowed to access the site and begin their work in September of 2018.

A segment of the San Gabriel River Bike Trail between the Marina Drive Bridge and the 1st Street parking lot will be closed from November 13th through early January 2019.
